Questioner:

I kindly request from you to acquaint us with yourself as Allah bears witness that I love you for Allah’s ﷻ pleasure, however I only know a little about you. So I place my hope in Allah ﷻ and then you, that you would kindly inform us of (yourself) even if it be a little, may Allāh ﷻ reward you with the best of rewards.

Shaykh Muḥammad Amān al-Jāmī:

All praises are due to Allāah ﷻ and may salutations and peace be upon the messenger of Allah ﷺ. To proceed:

As for speaking about myself, then that is very difficult, however I say in summary, (I am) your brother Muḥammad Amān ibn ʿAlī al-Jāmī, I was an associate professor at the Islamic University (in Madīnah), and the Head of the Department of ʿAqīdah at Higher Studies. (So) Here I am, as you can see I have reached retirement. I dedicate my time to catering for the youth. Currently, I am a teacher and director in the Prophet’s Masjid and I also give lessons and lectures in Jeddah. I look out for the youth in regards to the tribulations which you heard about, (that is who) I am. I ask Allah to bless me and you with success, (and as) for the brother that sought this request I thank him for such sentiments, and mentioning that he wanted to be more acquainted with me. However I hope that he does not know more than this, as Allah is the One that knows the reality of the servants, and it is not proper for us to claim knowledge or (righteous) actions or daʿwah, (rather) we leave all of that to Allah –The One far above all imperfections –  Allah ﷻ is All-Knowing regarding the reality of His servants,
