Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmi strongly criticizes Yahya al-Hajuri’s claims and characterizes his statements as false, arrogant, and misleading. He warns against studying under him, rejects his accusations against scholars, and emphasizes that such behavior is not befitting for a student of knowledge.
As-Salāmu ʿalaykum.
Wa ʿalaykum as-salām.
May Allah ﷻ bless you with life O’ Shaykh of ours.
May Allah ﷻ protect you.
For days now we have tried to reach you but now, all praise is due to Allah ﷻ, He has made it easy and I hear your voice.
May Allah ﷻ reward you.
I am Abū Hārūn and I am speaking to you from Yemen, O’ Shaykh.
Okay.
How is everything with you? How is your health?
All praise is due to Allāh ﷻ, I can tell you everything is good.
All praise is due to Allah ﷻ. How are the things related to your lessons?
All praise is due to Allah ﷻ.
By Allah ﷻ, we want to study with you O’ Shaykh.
By Allah ﷻ, brother, this is something that is not in our hands.
And we ask Allah ﷻ to make it easy, by Allah ﷻ. How are things?
We praise Allah ﷻ.
We have with us, O’ Shaykh, among us a man; we would like to ask you about some of the things he says because we’d like to know your opinion of him if Allah ﷻ wills.
Okay.
This man advocates the principle that every innovator is calling to his innovation.
Huh?
Every religious innovator is calling to his innovation.
Every religious innovator…?
…is a caller to his innovation.
…a caller to his innovation?
Yes.
No, these two are not the same. It is well-known the difference between calling to one’s innovation and not calling to one’s innovation. This means that the innovator who is a blind-follower might not be calling to his innovation. However, the innovator who persists upon it and tries to spread it and fights for it; this is the caller to his innovation. Yes.
He said that Shaykh Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Tamīmī was not well-versed in the knowledge of ḥadīth.
What does he mean by isn’t well-versed in the knowledge of ḥadīth?
He says that his knowledge in the science of ḥadīth is limited.
Limited… He was not truthful. He did not speak the truth. How does he write these books and his knowledge of ḥadīth is limited? Yes.
Okay, and he says about Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Āl al-Shaykh that his direction is ikhwānī and that he gives the ḥizbīs precedence over the salafīs; and he shortens his beard.
Lies, lies, lies, lies! His direction is ikhwānīs?!
And he gives the ḥizbīs precedence over the salafīs.
No!
And that he takes from his beard and shortens his beard.
The issue of taking from the beard is something else. But his statement that his direction is ikhwānī, that is not at all true. And the issue of giving the ḥizbīs precedence over the salafīs; if he knows that this one is a salafī and this one is a ḥizbī, he will not give this one precedence over that one; however no one knows what the people are hiding except for Allah ﷻ.
And when we asked him to provide proof, he did not provide proof…by Allah ﷻ!
Huh?
He also said about Shaykh Wasīullāh that he is certainly a Turāthī.
A Turāthī?
Yes.
Glorified is Allah ﷻ. Glorified is Allah ﷻ the Magnificent. This is a type of boldness and audacity that is baffling. It is not possible for a student of knowledge to be like this. It is upon him to fear Allah ﷻ; and leave these…
[Interrupting] May I complete what I have for you? Some of the scholars here advised him regarding his speech when he said I am alone here by myself. He said this speech should be urinated on.
Huh?
Some of the scholars advised him here, meaning his Mashāyikh, regarding some of his speech which they criticised him for when he said I am alone here by myself in giving daʿwah and he said regarding this speech that it should be urinated on.
Glorified is Allah ﷻ. This one is belligerent. Allah ﷻ is sufficient for us and the best Disposer of affairs.
Also, he says I am the first…
[Interrupting] I seek refuge in Allah ﷻ from his condition. Based upon this…Enough; what has been said is sufficient. That is enough. (Some speech unclear).
Is it permissible to study with him O’ Shaykh?
Huh?
Is it lawful to study with this individual?
No.
Never?
By Allah ﷻ, this is what I hold. Then where did he study?
Should I inform you of who the speaker is O’ Shaykh?
Huh?
Should I tell you who it is?
Tell me.
This is Yaḥya al-Hajūrī O’ Shaykh.
Oh Man! Yaḥya al-Hajūrī?
Yes; and all of this is recorded and we heard it in the lesson and it is available on tape.
Allah ﷻ is sufficient for us and The Best Disposer of affairs.
