Shaykh Muḥammad Taqī ad-Dīn al-Hilālī (1893–1987 CE) stated:
“I wish to draw the attention of my dear readers to an important matter. Every Jewish boy and girl in the United States is required to attend two schools.
These students excel in both institutions.
As for Arab and Muslim children, their situation is well known. Their fathers are concerned solely with obtaining certificates that will secure worldly success for their children. Many of them, particularly the wealthy, enrol their children in Christian missionary schools and pay substantial tuition fees, thereby depriving them of a righteous upbringing that would enable them to become upright members of their community, preserving their religion and their dignity.
May Allah guide the Muslims and assist them in returning to their true religion, both in teaching and in learning. Āmīn.”
