The approach of such virtuous days brings join to the heart of every Muslim. Four of the twelve Islamic months are considered sacred: Rajab (7th month), Dhū al-Qa’dah (11th), Dhul al-ijjah (12th) and Muḥarram (1st). The month of Dhul al-ijjah consists of days in which Allah ﷻ has preferred over all other days. Many narrations have been recorded concerning the significance of such days. The Companion Ibn ʿAbbās narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days are more beloved to Allah ﷻ in which righteous deeds are performed more than these ten days.” The companions asked, “Not even jihad for Allah?” He said, “Not even jihad for Allah, except if a man goes out to fight, sacrificing himself and his wealth, and returns with nothing.” (Refer to al-Bukhārī, 2/457).
