On the authority of Abū ʿUsayd as-Sā’idī who said, ‘We were once sitting with the Messenger of Allah when a man from Banī Salīmah came and asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, does there remain any duties for me to carry out towards my parents after their death?” He said ‘Yes, that you invoke Allah for them…’
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ ibn Fawzān al-Fawzān

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ ibn Fawzān al-Fawzān
Once [ʿAbdullah] Ibn ʿUmar was walking on a street when he saw a bedouin, so he went to him, mounted him on his own riding beast and put his own head wrap, over him. So they said to him ‘O Abā ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, he is a bedouin, doing less than this is enough for him” He replied ‘He was a friend of ʿUmar. He said, ‘Indeed he was a friend of [my father] ʿUmar ..’ So he honoured him in this way by acting upon this ḥadīth.
