Question:

My wife is in the first month of pregnancy – according to the doctor, and I have decided to divorce her since I am not attracted to her. Is it permissible for us to have an abortion since we do not wish to continue staying together?

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ ibn Fawzān al-Fawzān:

This is not permissible for you to do this. It may be that Allah benefits you both by way of this child. The child is a blessing from Allah ﷻ, so do not have an abortion.
