Shaykh Ḥammād ibn Muḥammad al-Anṣārī ؒ (b. 1345 AH/1926 CE; d. 1418 AH/1997 CE) said:
If a person were to reflect deeply upon Sūrat al-ʿAṣr, his certainty would increase that the Qurʾān is the Speech of Allah, the Most High. This is because there is no one besides Him capable of encompassing all goodness within three short verses.
He then cited the statement of Imām Muḥammad ibn Idrīs ash-Shāfiʿī ؒ (b. 150 AH/767 CE; d. 204 AH/820 CE), who said:
لو تدبر الناس هذه السورة لكفتهم
“If the people were to contemplate this sūrah, it would suffice them.” [Majmūʿ at-Tarjumah, p. 490.]
