On the 20th Rajab 1434 AH corresponding to the Christian calendar Thursday 30th May 2013, I [Ṣalāḥ al-Irānī] asked the Imām, Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī in a sitting at his house the following question: O’ Shaykh, may Allah be good to you, I’m an Iranian, [originally] from the city of Tehran. I used to be a Rāfiḍī and now I have become a Salafī. So is it possible to receive from you some words of guidance?
Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī:
Upon you is to seek forgiveness and knowledge, may Allah bless you. Seek knowledge, become firm upon the sunnah and refute the Rāfiḍa, may Allah bless you. Read and study the books of ʿaqīdah such as Sharḥ al-Sunnah by Imām al-Barbahārī, ‘Usūl as-Sunnah by Imām Aḥmad and as-Sunnah by Ibn Abī ʿĀsim, may Allah bless you.
Similarly, the book Manḥāj as-Sunnah by Ibn Taymīyyah. Study the books of sunnah and refute the Rāfiḍa. Study the books of Iḥsān Ilāhi Thāhir, study his refutations of the Rāfiḍīa. Likewise the books of Muḥib al-dīn al-Khaṭīb, he has a very strong refutation on them. Study these books and refute them, may Allah bless you.
