This series explores the scholarly legacy of the eminent Shāfiʿī jurist and ḥadīth scholar Sirāj al-Dīn ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad al-Shāfiʿī al-Miṣrī, widely known as Ibn al-Mulaqqin (d. 804 AH / 1401 CE). He was renowned for his extensive contributions to the sciences of ḥadīth and fiqh, and for his prolific and influential scholarship.
Among his most notable works is al-Tadhkira fī ʿUlūm al-Ḥadīth (The Memorandum on the Sciences of Ḥadīth), a comprehensive compendium of technical terminology and methodological principles employed in the discipline of ḥadīth. In this work, the author systematically presents and clarifies complex concepts, rendering them accessible to students of knowledge and seekers of Islamic learning.
These lessons are delivered by Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Uways al-Ṭawīl, a graduate of the Faculty of Ḥadīth at the Islamic University of Madīnah. Through clear explanation and structured instruction, he guides students in understanding both the foundational principles and the specialised terminology of the ḥadīth sciences.
