Sunan Ibn Mājah is a major collection of Prophetic ḥadīth, compiled by Ibn Mājah, Abū ʿAbdillāh Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Qazwīnī. He was from Qazvīn, a city in present-day Iran. It is reported that “Mājah” was a Persian nickname of his father.
His collection is widely regarded as the sixth and final of the primary sources of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, commonly known as al-Kutub al-Sittah. It consists of approximately 4,341 narrations, arranged into thirty-two books and over 1,500 chapters.
This important work reflects the precision and dedication of the scholars of ḥadīth in preserving the teachings of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Through strict methods of authentication and transmission, they safeguarded the Sunnah for future generations.
In this series, Uways aṭ-Ṭawīl presents selected narrations from Sunan Ibn Mājah, explaining their meanings, contexts, and practical applications. Drawing upon classical scholarship, he helps listeners connect Prophetic guidance to their daily lives.
This series serves as a valuable resource for students of knowledge and the wider community, strengthening their understanding of the Sunnah and encouraging adherence to authentic teachings.
May Allah ﷻ grant us beneficial knowledge and enable us to follow the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ with sincerity and wisdom. Āmīn.
