Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī explains that a fasting woman may taste food with the tip of her tongue while cooking to check its flavour, provided she does not swallow anything. He clarifies that this does not break the fast, as long as nothing is ingested.
What is the ruling on a [fasting] woman tasting food, whilst cooking with the tip of her tongue in order to know what the food is lacking from spices and ingredients?
There is no problem with that – if Allah ﷻ wills, [however] she should not swallow anything.
