Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan explains that Friday ghusl is for those attending the Friday prayer, both men and women. It is meant to remove odours and clean oneself. Performing it is a recommended Sunnah for those who join the congregation.
Is the (obligation of) ghusl on Friday general for both men and women or is it specifically for the men only?
[It is for] those who go to the Friday prayer, who attend the congregation, in order to remove odours and clean [oneself]. Those who go to the Friday prayer should perform ghusl in order to clean themselves. This is a recommended Sunnah.
