Wet Dream During Ramadan: What to Do?

Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī clarifies the ruling on experiencing a wet dream while fasting in Ramaḍān. He explains that there is no expiation required, and the person should perform ghusl (major ablution) and continue fasting, even if it occurs after Fajr or during the day.

Questioner:

What is the ruling on a person who has a wet dream [whilst fasting] in Ramaḍān?

Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wādiʿī:

There is nothing [of expiation] upon him. He performs major ritual ablution (ghusl) even if it is after Fajr and he continues to fast. Even if it happens during the day time, there is nothing upon him.
