Shaykh Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyā an-Najmī (d. 1429 AH/2008 CE) ؒ said:
Worship is not established except upon tawḥīd. Therefore, circles of knowledge should be organised, the Qurʾān should be taught to the youth, and tawḥīd should be instilled in them. The errors of the Ṣūfīs and mystical paths should be clarified to them, as well as the refutation of the claims of the polytheists against the Qurʾān.
They should be taught the biography (sīrah) of the Prophet , instructed in foundational principles related to the science of ḥadīth, and made to love ḥadīth. Its immense status should be made clear to them, and that it is the second primary source of Islamic legislation which explains and clarifies the Qurʾān.
They should be taught to detest the innovations of the Jahmiyyah, the Muʿtazilah, the Shīʿah, the Khawārij, and the Murjiʾah. Likewise, they should be warned against the ḥizbī movements and the Ikhwānīs, including the Surūrīs, Quṭbīs, Tablīghīs, and others besides them.
Thereafter, one must remain patient and not hasten the results. Rather, one should strive and wait. By Allah , whoever treads this path and nurtures people upon this cultivation, following the way that the Messenger , his Companions, and the Successors followed in their achievements, Allah will, without doubt, aid him and grant him success in the end, just as He has promised. Indeed, the promise of Allah is true.
