Advice for Students Studying Worldly Sciences
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān advises students to prioritise learning their religion before pursuing worldly fields of study such as engineering or other professions.
Questioner:
I am a new student in an engineering college. What is your advice for me?
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān:
My advice is that you study the matters of your religion first. When you have studied the matters of your religion, then there is no problem if you study a worldly trade or something you incline towards and are able to be productive in. However, this is after you have studied matters of your religion.
