Tales of Tawbah: Shaykh Abū Ḥakīm Bilāl to Deliver Special Lecture in London

Masjid Daar us Sunnah will host a special lecture entitled “Tales of Tawbah: Stories of the Repentant”, delivered by Shaykh Abū Ḥakīm Bilāl Davis on Friday 16 October 2026 at 8:15 pm.

The lecture will take place at Masjid Dār us-Sunnah in West London and will explore the subject of tawbah (repentance), drawing lessons from the accounts of those who sincerely turned back to Allāh.

Repentance occupies an important position in Islām. It is through sincere repentance that a Muslim seeks Allāh’s forgiveness, abandons wrongdoing and strives to return to obedience.

The Qurʾān repeatedly reminds believers of Allāh’s vast mercy and the importance of turning to Him, regardless of their previous shortcomings.

Allāh, the Most High, says: “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’” Sūrah az-Zumar (39:53)

Through the stories of the repentant, the lecture will offer reminders concerning the dangers of sin, the importance of sincere regret, the hope found in Allāh’s mercy and the need to remain steadfast upon obedience.

The event forms part of the ongoing programme of Islamic lectures and educational activities at Masjid Dār us-Sunnah.
