Fundraising Campaign Statement for the Establishment of a New Masjid

Join our £2 million campaign to build a new masjid that will serve as a centre of worship, learning, and community for generations to come.

All praise is due to Allah ﷻ, Lord of the worlds. We seek His help, His guidance, and His forgiveness. May peace and blessings be upon His noble Messenger Muḥammad ﷺ, upon his family, his Companions, and all those who follow them upon righteousness until the Day of Judgment.

With sincere gratitude to Allah ﷻ and a deep awareness of our responsibility towards the present and future generations, we are honoured to announce the launch of our fundraising campaign to raise £2 million for the establishment of a new masjid for our community.

This project represents a vital and necessary step in strengthening our commitment to worship, Islamic education, and community service in accordance with the Qurʾān and the authentic Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

The Central Role of the Masjid in Islam

From the earliest days of Islam, the masjid has stood at the heart of Muslim life. When the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ arrived in Madinah, the first institution he established was the masjid, making it the spiritual, educational, and social centre of the community. Historically and until today, the masjid serves not only as a place of ṣalāh, but as a centre for:

  • Teaching the Qurʾān and authentic ḥadīth

  • Preserving sound ʿaqīdah and adherence to the Sunnah

  • Providing guidance in fiqh, manners, and Islamic ethics

  • Supporting families, youth, and vulnerable members of society

  • Fostering unity upon truth, justice, and righteousness

Through the masjid, hearts are nurtured, knowledge is transmitted, and generations are shaped upon faith and moral integrity.

Allah ﷻ says:

إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ

“The mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day…”
(Sūrat al-Tawbah, 9:18)

This noble verse highlights that building, maintaining, and supporting the houses of Allah ﷻ is among the greatest signs of sincere īmān and devotion.

Why a New Masjid Is Needed

By the permission and grace of Allah ﷻ, our community has grown significantly in recent years. Attendance at daily prayers, Jumuʿah, classes, and community activities has steadily increased, reflecting a strong desire for learning, worship, and spiritual development. However, our existing facilities are no longer sufficient to meet the growing demand for:

  • Daily congregational prayers and Jumuʿah

  • Structured Islamic education programmes

  • Classes for children, youth, and adults

  • Counselling and family support services

  • Daʿwah and public engagement initiatives

Limited space and facilities restrict our ability to serve the community effectively and to expand beneficial programmes. In addition, due to current circumstances, our community faces the urgent need to relocate and secure a permanent home for the masjid. This presents both a serious challenge and a valuable opportunity.

The Vision for the New Masjid

By the will of Allah ﷻ, the proposed new masjid will serve as a comprehensive Islamic centre that addresses the spiritual, educational, and social needs of our community. The new facility will include, in shāʾ Allāh:

  • A spacious and well-designed prayer hall for brothers and sisters

  • Dedicated classrooms for Qurʾān and Islamic studies

  • Facilities for lectures, seminars, and conferences

  • Safe and welcoming spaces for youth development

  • Areas for counselling, community support, and outreach

  • Accessible and inclusive amenities for all members of society

Our aim is to establish a centre firmly grounded upon the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah, serving the Ummah with sincerity, knowledge, moderation, and integrity. This masjid will be a place where worship is perfected, knowledge is preserved, character is refined, and unity is strengthened.

The £2 Million Vision

The total fundraising target of £2 million has been carefully calculated after consultation and professional assessment to ensure the long-term viability of the project. This amount will cover:

  • The purchase and development of suitable land or property

  • Construction, renovation, and infrastructure works

  • Essential safety, accessibility, and compliance requirements

  • Educational and community facilities

  • Administrative and operational foundations

  • Long-term sustainability and maintenance

Every pound contributed will be managed responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with Islamic principles and legal obligations. Detailed financial reports and regular updates will be provided to maintain accountability and trust.

The Virtue of Supporting the Houses of Allah

Supporting the building and maintenance of a masjid is among the most virtuous forms of charity in Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

This blessed promise reminds us that contributing to a masjid is not merely a financial act, but a spiritual investment for the Hereafter. It is a form of ṣadaqah jāriyah — ongoing charity — whose reward continues through every prayer offered, every lesson taught, and every heart guided within its walls. Long after we depart from this world, the rewards of this contribution will continue to flow, by the mercy of Allah ﷻ.

How You Can Contribute

We invite every member of our community and every sincere supporter to participate in this blessed initiative according to their ability.

You can support this project by:

  • Making a one-off donation

  • Setting up regular monthly contributions

  • Donating on behalf of family members

  • Encouraging others to participate

  • Making duʿāʾ for the success of the project

No contribution is insignificant in the sight of Allah ﷻ when it is given sincerely and with pure intention.

Whether large or small, every donation brings us closer to securing a permanent home for our community.

A Collective Responsibility

This masjid will not belong to any individual, organisation, or group. It is a sacred trust (amānah) for the entire community and for generations yet to come.

By supporting this campaign, you are helping to:

  • Preserve authentic Islamic knowledge

  • Strengthen Muslim identity

  • Protect our youth from misguidance

  • Establish a legacy of worship and learning

  • Serve the wider society with wisdom and good character

We ask Allah ﷻ to place barakah in this effort, to accept it from all contributors, and to make it a means of guidance and mercy.

Join the Campaign Today

We humbly ask Allah ﷻ to place barakah in this effort, to accept it from all contributors, and to make it a means of guidance, mercy, and forgiveness. Let us come together with firm resolve, sincere intentions, and complete reliance upon Allah ﷻ to establish a house for His worship. Your support today will, by the permission of Allah ﷻ, shape the future of our community tomorrow. May Allah ﷻ reward you and your families with the best in this world and the Hereafter, and make this project a source of everlasting benefit.
