Is Mocking Religion Clear Unbelief?

Mocking Islam, the Qurʾān, the Prophet ﷺ, or any aspect of the religion is clear unbelief. The Qurʾān explicitly condemns those who mock Allah ﷻ and His Messenger.ﷺ If done knowingly and without coercion, it constitutes major disbelief, though the formal ruling is the responsibility of the ruler, not the ordinary Muslim.

Doubts About Faith: Am I a Hypocrite?

Persistent doubts about faith are often intrusive thoughts from Shayṭān, not a sign of hypocrisy. The remedy is to seek refuge in Allah ﷻ, recite supplications, and occupy oneself with remembrance and gratitude. Such thoughts indicate the presence of faith, and the believer should reject them and continue worship.

Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan explains that during the time of the Prophet ﷺ people used to say, “Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ know best.” After the Prophet ﷺ passed away, this phrase is no longer used. Instead, when someone does not know something—whether it is about religion or worldly matters—they should simply say, “Allah ﷻ knows best.”
