Breaking Fast Due to Postpartum Bleeding
Shaykh Muqbil states that if a woman breaks her fast due to postpartum bleeding, she must make up the missed fasts later. This ruling also applies if she stops fasting shortly before giving birth because of bleeding, as it is considered postpartum bleeding.

What is the ruling on the pregnant woman who breaks her fast in Ramaḍān due to giving birth?
Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādi al-Wādiʿī:
[The answer has] preceeded. It is obligatory upon her to make up the missed fasts.
Questioner:
What is the ruling if she breaks the fast a day or two before giving birth due to bleeding?
Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādi al-Wādiʿī:
This bleeding is considered post-partum bleeding. That which is correct is for her to make up the fast. That which is apparent to be correct is for her to make for the fasts. As it has been mention about the case of the pregnant and ill.
