Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmi explains that nasheeds are associated with Sufi practices, and therefore it is not permissible to listen to them, whether they include music or not. This ruling applies regardless of the presence of instruments.
Is it permissible to listen to nashīds which do not contain music?
Nashīds are now well known to be from the actions of the Ṣūfīs. It is not allowed to listen to them with or without music.
