A powerful poem by Shaykh Muhammad Taqi al-Din al-Hilali affirming adherence to pure tawhid and the Sunnah, rejecting innovations and false labels, and calling Muslims to unity upon the way of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions.
A poem by al-ʿAllāmah Muḥammad Imrān al-Linji which was completed by the Imām of Morocco, Shaykh Muḥammad Tāqī al-Dīn al-Hilālī.
Shaykh Muḥammad Tāqī al-Dīn Al-Hilālī was born in the year 1311 (A.H.) in a village called Al-Fidah in a valley near Sajalmasah in Morocco (N. Africa). His grandfather migrated to this place from Al-Qairawan (Tunis), a long time ago. He was a person endowed with religious knowledge and so was his father and his family. Shaykh Muḥammad Tāqī al-Dīn Al-Hilālī belongs to the family of Husain bin ʿAlī – the family of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
He memorized the Qurʿān as a boy at the age of 12 years. Then he studied Arabic grammar and Tajwīd and other Arabic knowledge of Aḥādīth of the Prophet ﷺ.
He also learned well the English and German languages. He traveled widely all over the world in search of knowledge (India, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc.). He worked as a teacher in these countries. He attained his secondary school education in Al-Qarawiyyth University, completed his education in Egypt, and obtained his doctorate from the Berlin University (Germany). He worked in Baghdad University, as an assistant professor, then a professor. Lastly, he worked as a professor in the Islamic University of Al-Madīnah (Saudi Arabia). Shaykh Muḥammad Tāqī al-Dīn Al-Hilālī had widespread experience in the field of preaching, had written many books and had done many religious and good deeds. May Allah ﷻ reward him for all of that. He was possessed with true Islamic Monotheistic Faith and had been inviting people to this Faith and used to reply back to those who used to oppose this doctrine. He had a good way of tackling the problems with wisdom and knowledge, which made him reach a high place in the field of knowledge.
He shared with Dr. Muḥammad Muḥsin in the translation of the meanings of the interpretation of the Qurʿān and Saḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī and the book Al-Luʾlu wa al-Marjān into the English language during the period of his stay at the Islamic University (Al-Madīnah Al-Munawwarah).
He died in the year 1408 Hijrah. May Allah ﷻ shower His Blessings on him.
