Shaykh Ahmad al-Najmi explains that warning against innovators and exposing false beliefs is a major act of piety and a form of jihad for the sake of Allah ﷻ. He adds that those who oppose such refutations are either ignorant or following their desires.
When we warn from the people of innovation and desires there are certain people say to us: “Fear Allāh ﷻ, seek knowledge and leave refutations.” So is spreading refutations and warning from the people of innovation from piety?
Refuting the people of innovation is from the greatest form of piety and from the greatest type of Jihād for the sake of Allah ﷻ. Those who say this are either ignoramuses or people of desires.
