Ruling on Ordinary Followers of Innovation
Shaykh Salih al-Luhaydan explains that ordinary people who follow deviant sects or theologies are considered part of those groups. Even if they lack detailed knowledge of the errors, their adherence to the creed places them within the misguided group.
Questioner:
What is the ruling on the general folk who follow deviated sects and theologies?
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad al-Luhaydān
They are from them! Whoever views himself to be upon the creed of these misguided groups, even if he be a person from the general folk and does not know their particulars [of misguidance], he is still from them.
