What About Madinah Graduates Who Criticize Shaykh Rabi?
Shaykh Muqbil explains that graduates from Madinah who speak badly about Shaykh Rabi are likely biased followers of groups like the Ikhwan or Sururis. Their criticism does not harm the Shaykh; it only harms themselves, as the Shaykh stood firmly against many innovators.
Question:
How about those graduates from the Islamic University of Madinah who speak ill of Shaykh Rabīʿ [ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī]?
Shaykh Muqbil bin Hādī al-Wādiʿī:
Those who speak about the virtuous Shaykh, Rabīʿ – may Allāh reward him, for certainly he has stood in the faces of many innovators, [those that speak about him] must be hizbīs, followers of either the Ikhwān al-Muslīm, Surūrīyīn or other than them from the hizbis. They do not harm him. They do not harm except themselves.
